In the beginning, Dave’s sole focus was on kitchen cabinet refinishing and antique furniture restoration. Since then we have been inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the craftsmanship of the vintage Antiques we restore and design, and we specialize in providing custom wood tables, custom bathroom vanities, and handmade cabinet building in Kansas City and Overland Park, KS.


In 1987 Dave moved The Refinishing Shop into the current building in Historic Old Town Overland Park and has been servicing the Kansas City metro area with a wide range of products and services ever since. Around 1990 he added a retail store front to The Refinishing Shop and became McNary’s Furniture and Restoration in Overland Park, KS. Dave continued to do repair work on antique furniture and slowly evolved into crafting custom farmhouse tables, vanities, cabinetry and other custom furniture.
